WA State CCTV Register

The new State CCTV Register was developed to capture CCTV cameras from businesses, local governments and members of the public in order to improve the community safety across WA.

The newly enhanced register has a refreshed design and is more user friendly which can be accessed here:

On April 23, 2020 the new Australian CCTV/VSS standards were released, covering video surveillance system requirements, transmission protocols, camera performance, application guidelines and more.

Adopted from IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) standards with the same titles.

Australia is an IEC participant in the technical committee TC79 with local experts contributing to the development of these standards.

The West Australia Police are establishing a register of CCTV systems within the state, registration details will be held centrally in a protected database, the database will be used to map the location of CCTV systems for use by Police investigators.
